12/6/2017A friend recommended this family run patisserie, and it did not fail to deliver. If you don't head there directly, it makes sense to plan a stop after Portobello Market. Start your journey from the Notting Hill Gate tube stop, make your way through the length of Portobello Road, and you'll find Lisboa a few short blocks on the right side up on Golborne.
Food: Folks, they have 'patisserie' in their name. Go for the baked goods. Specifically, the egg tart. Order two. You'll thank me later. The pastry crust was buttery soft, with a slight flake, and filled with a rich, dense, yet light and airy egg flan sort of soufflé. Order a coffee to pair with your treat. The donut with the yellow filling was the lightest and fluffiest donut I've ever had. It comes in a petite size if you're not wanting the full version. I'm sure you can't go wrong with the options they offer. I just stuck to what was flying out the door.
Service: Counter style. Friendly. Quick and efficient. Helps to know what you want. If you're eating in, they'll plate it and serve your drink in glassware. To go items will get boxed or bagged.
Overall: Bring cash. They take cards, but a minimum spend is required. Two egg tarts, two mini stuffed donuts, and another sugar coated treat ran me £4.50. Seating inside or outside. They'll bus tables. Toilets are for customers only. - 49292629
7/9/2018Pastel de nata (£1.35) were very good. Wish I could have had one hot from the oven. They were doing a good business.

28/5/2017I had heard about the pastel de nata at the infamous Lisboa patisserie for a while but never had the opportunity of trying until now. I really cannot understand the hype about this place, the pastry tasted stale & the custard filling rather underwhelming. Perhaps they taste better fresh from the oven early in the morning, I was there on a late mid week afternoon. Unfortunately I also purchased a box of other traditional Portuguese sweet pastries and bread to takeaway, none were particularly appetising.
Prices are very low at Lisboa Patisserie, approximately £1 per pastry but I'd rather pay more for pasteis de nata served fresh from the oven throughout the day at more central locations like Covent Garden - Goetz B.London, United Kingdom67434191
28/2/2016Looking for one of the best Pastel de Nata in London? Lisboa Patisserie is your place! I had two, and both were absolutely delicious.
Before visiting Lisbon in 2015, I regularly had a little sweet thing at one of my favourite coffee shops in London called Portuguese Tarts. I always liked them, but since I have been to Lisbon, I realised that they are nowhere near as delicious as the real thing, Pastel de Nata.
Without hesitation I embarked on a journey to discover the best Pastel de Nata in London. So far, I have found some decent ones, The Coffee Jar in Camden for example has a pretty good variety. But today I went to Lisboa Patisserie in Notting Hill and I think, I probably found the best Pastel de Nata you can get here. This doesn't mean that I'm not continuing my quest to taste more of them, but really, the two I had at Lisboa Patisserie were heavenly, tasty, authentic - and it will be hard for any place to top this.
But it is not only the food. The shop looks simple, and in that this place also reminded me of some of the tascas, traditional no-frills restaurants, in Lisbon city centre. By having a large blue and white tile painting of Lisbon on the wall, Lisboa Patisserie added to this feeling. For a moment I probably almost thought I was back in Lisbon.
Lisboa Patisserie is a busy place, so it could be hard to find a free table. But the good news is that you do not really need a table anyway. Just get some sweet treats for takeaway and enjoy them on the go, it doesn't make them less delicious. I will definitely be back to sample some of their other pastries as well. - 21179654339
13/12/2013A dangerous, but utterly fantastic place! - Dangerous, because you run the risk of getting fat. Fantastic, because it's like a miniature version of custard heaven.
The patisserie/bakery is part of a little Portuguese ghetto - with the Lisboa Delicatessen shop right across from it and a little Portuguese stationary shop right next to it. Don't expect anything posh or fancy - it's a down-to-earth bakery, where real people eat real custards, so to speak.
In order to make the best out of this place, I suggest two options:
1) You come here on multiple occasions, as there's so many different things that will tempt your palette. You simply can't eat all of it in one visit, but you simply have to try most of it!
2) You talk to your bosses and persuade them to host a Portuguese Happy Hour - that way you can buy a variety of lots of different pastries and you get to sample a lot! (This was the option that I went for.)
I really love this place - but I suggest you come by on a non-weekend day, as the crowds are simply off-putting. - 26768737
2/7/2017OMG the nata was amazing. I ate it as I walked down the street and kicked myself for not buying a few more!

16/12/2017I was shocked to see a queue early Saturday afternoon but figured that's a good thing! Like others have said, the interior is like your typical Portuguese bakery including the incredible display of sweets and savouries behind the glass display. And cheap prices to boot! I got the chocolate roll for takeaway and was quite impressed with its density and its strong cinnamon flavour. It wasn't overtly sweet but sweet enough. If I was in the area I would definitely hit this up again.

8/11/2014When we missed Lisbon, we will come to this shop to have some sweet stuffs to remind us how lucky living in London if we are not able to travel in Lisbon again and again ; )
The staffs are very friendly, in weekends it could be crowded but the queue moving fast so it's OK to pick up a big box and picnic at neighborhood parks, many people choose to sit inside or outside with a cup coffee, their egg tar is surely my favorite (in Lisbon there are few kinds of egg tarts but i forgot how many kinds of egg tart over this shop?) as well as any custard inside are all good! We all love Lisbon!!!
Stop by in weekends~ - Viktor T.London, United Kingdom149
18/7/2016They've lost me as a customer. It's a pity, because I used to like their coffee. But that changed today.
I made a detour on the hottest day of the year, to have a single espresso here. (I tried their sweets before - they're cheapish, but don't offer much taste.)
A single espresso costs £1.20,. However, I only realised before ordering that I only had £1 cash in my pocket. (I gave the rest of my cash to a homeless gentleman the day before, and also bought him a sandwich and fruit. Just saying.)
A note behind the counter says £5 minimum for card payment, so I told the assistant that I only had £1 in cash, and asked if I could pay by card for my coffee, and he could charge me extra for it. I didn't have the energy to walk to the nearest cash machine and back, over 20p, I said.
What do I want to buy?, he asked.
A single espresso, I said, which is £1.20.
He'd go and ask, he said.. He walked a few metres to a little room, obviously to speak to a manager of some sort, and was back promptly to say that it wasn't possible.
Meanwhile a woman was ordering and paying right next to me (cash), then another one came, ordered and paid (cash), and then a guy just walked in. They all heard our conversation. The other assistant heard us too. Most tables were taken, some others must've heard us too.
But no-one said a word.
So I walked to the nearest cash machine (which only had £20 notes) and back, ordered my single espresso, and paid the £1.20.
Their coffee did not taste good anymore.
And I won't be returning, either.
I avoid places where this 20p worth of goodwill is missing. - Lily P.Paris, France066
19/10/2017I went early in the morning on a trip to Portobello Market to sample the little egg tarts. They were still warm from the oven and the pastry was crispy with tons of layers, the filling gooey and rich and they tasted so so good.
They are really sweet and best eaten warm so just get one or two and come back often. You won't be able to forget or resist them once you try them anyways, and they are quite cheap so you can treat yourself anytime!
