I dropped by Wawa a couple of months ago as I'd been craving real Mexican food for days and madre miiiiiia, what an amazing surprise!
This tiny local in the heart of chatelain offers a bit of Mexico in Brussels with his delish tacos/ burritos , tasty margaritas and nachos with guacamole casero!
The concept is similar to fast food chains : get in line, choose your base : taco/ burrito, then add meat/fish/tofu, and finish with extras (rice, beans, ..).
The owners only use local organic/ farm fresh products.
The place itself isn't too big nor very posh but is modern and colorful without being kitschy neither. There's even a cute little terrace at the back for the sunny days.
Friendly staff, average prices and very high quality food! It is indeed a "fast good" place ;-)
Cash/ debit and credit cards. No reservations. - Makayela I.Bethany Beach, United States87102111/4/2019
My favorite Mexican place in Brussels!!! For an American who is missing a bit of Chipotle, this is the place for you. The owner is the nicest man (who's fluent in English) and it has strong California vibes. Order a margarita- you won't regret it.

Omg they have a thing called Chihuahua Huednesdays; bring your tiny Mexican dog and get a discount! (I'm thinking about dressing up my dog with a teeny tiny sombrero.)
Food is good, a little confusing service at first because you have to go to the counter and just point out what you want starting with taco's/burrito or salad bowl. You can choose between different meats/fish/tofu and salsa's, rice and beans, cheeses and much more. My first timer I had taco's with tofu and my partner the burrito with beef, if there is one little remark I'd say his burrito contained a lot more ingredients than my 3 taco's all together- but then again I don't often get tasty vegetarian food in Brussels so yay anyway! - Julie P.Fullerton, United States1328/4/2016
I don't typically write reviews, but felt that it was necessary to give Chez WaWa huge credit for bringing Mexican food to Brussels. Â I'm from California so I know good Mexican food! The service, quality and food options are on the same level as what I would find at home. Â
I ordered the naked burrito bowl with pork, the spanish style rice, pinto beans, salsa and guacamole. Â My husband ordered the burrito with similar ingredients. Â So pleasantly surprised by the taste. Â
I was also surprised to see a free tap water dispenser!
Highly recommend! - Sofie G.Zaventem, Vlaams-Brabant03115/11/2016
First time here and I love it. I like the concept of personalizing your own burrito, taco or salad. Fresh and good tasting ingredients. Nice decoration aswell.

In the style of Chipotle the place allows the customers to choose whatever item they want in their burritos tacos, bowl, etc. However many of the items have supplementary charge, including jalapenos, many of the salsas, etc. It's a satisfactory place to go to for Californians who want to assuage their cravings for comfort/home food. Chez WaWa has many events according to days of the week, such as "Taco Tuesdays," Chihuahua Huednesday, etc. Will most likely return if I'm in the area.

We discovered this restaurant by chance while walking around the Châtelain area.
This is a very new and clean restaurant with a hip and trendy atmosphere.
The staff speaks French and English and is very polite.
The menu is simple but with options even for vegetarians and vegans (you have spicy tofu and just veggies filling option).
For a Tex-mex restaurant the food did not feel heavy and greasy as other restaurants of the kind.
Another positive thing you must keep in mind is the fact that they use organic veggies and fresh juices (we tried tamarind to go with the menu).
Finally the home-made "guacamole con pico de gallo" was very fresh and yummy even though a bit short on quantity given the amount of tortilla chips you get.
If I was looking for nice, simple dinner I would definitely try this restaurant! - Sab S.Chicago, United States11713/12/2016
Just ate here today as I was craving Mexican food that had real flavor and spice! The place itself is clean and trendy. The food was very good and I love the concept of build your own. The staff was super nice and helpful. Also, I was so happy that their spicy salsa was actually spicy! Can't wait to go back and try something else!! Def give this place a go.

Tested through Deliveroo, ordered at home! I loved it. My taco was very tasty, spicy as I wanted but not too much. Ingredients seem to be high quality. The menu is a bit limited, but they have gluten free and vegetarian options which is good. I found it a bit expensive, but you eat enough for what you pay. I waited for tacos in Brussels so long that I'm now satisfied!

Excellent Cali Mex food for a reasonable price. Â The food is good even by California's high standards for Mexican. Â They are constantly changing up the menu in small but significant ways, which adds a bit of variety to my visits.
