Excellent service and food. Family-owned restaurant with a fun atmosphere due to the live music.

*Warning for Recommended Sorrento Restaurant*
We went to TAVERN ALLEGRA in Sorrento. They will serve you a dish of seafood ravioli at the end of your dining experience. We expressed we did not ask for it many times- we don't even like seafood ravioli. It came and we just moved it around the plate, thought it was a complimentary add on since we just got engaged. The Waiter CHARGED US, was very good rude, and wouldn't remove it until we about walked out. DO NOT GO HERE! This is my only negative experience ever in Italy.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 5 Oct 2023
Not easy to find because it is behind the building on the main street, so take the side path to the back.
Once there, be ready for a great experience! The owner does a lot of table touches and takes your order, so he can answer questions and make recommendations, if asked. The rest of the staff helps with serving and clearing tables.
I ordered the Sorrento Kindness cocktail, which is limoncello and prosecco. It was a nice balance of sweet and tart. My first course was swordfish parmigiana with eggplant, which was mostly eggplant, but I enjoyed it very much!
I ordered the Sciatiatelli ai frutti di mare as my entree. It's short cut, flat pasta with mussels, octopus, calamari, and clams, and pieces of fish. It was amazing!
I found this place thanks to the Yelp app, so trust the app when looking for recommendtions.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Carol K.Ocean City, United States1291779 Apr 2024
This place is a hidden gem! You will not be disappointed. Best bruschetta we have ever had. The scialatielli ai frutti di mare was unbelievable and loaded with fresh seafood. Cannot say enough about this place. If you are in Sorrento you must try it!

SCAM!!!!!!!!! RUN!!!
Will charge you for seafood ravioli. Told them several times we didn't order, one waiter says that's okay. The waiter with the check tried to force us to pay until we about walked out. Not sure if this scam is geared to only foreigners, but watch out! Run if you get the seafood ravioli! This has ruined my night in Sorrento to believe a family run business would possess such evil to have a scheme like this.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Carol F.Milan, Italy611121 Apr 2024
Just had the most marvelous experience at dinner EVER! The most wonderful people ever - the owners, the staff - especially Guiseppe and our consummate guitarist! It's the greatest location - at the end of a little alley. So very cute. We had the best food and entertainment we've experienced in many travels around the world. So much love and laughter. Going to be hard to top this!!!! Definitely coming back. Volari and amore!!

I dined here almost 3 years ago now and still think about it all the time. Not only was it delicious food, but it was the most fun and friendly atmosphere. They made us feel like family and we had so much fun dancing with the guitarist and other guests. We recommend this hidden gem to anyone who visits Sorrento!

TavernAllegra is a great little spot for eating in Sorrento. The staff is amazing and service was spot on, making you feel as if you're in the family. The food was amazing, the best we have had in Sorrento! We would definitely come again if we could.
We ordered the zucchini flower appetizer, which was amazing. We then got the Sorrento style Gnocchi, fried shrimp and calamari, seafood pasta, and Homemade ravioli. All of the dishes were super fresh and felt like a homemade meal.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
