When I stopped by for lunch at The Restaurant du Musée D'Orsay, I was impressed by the beautiful setting. Crystal chandeliers, beautiful white walls with ornate detailing. I was Surprised, however, by the inexpensive cafeteria-type table and plexiglass looking chairs. Inharmonious.
There is an extensive variety on the à la carte portion of the menu or you can opt for a prix fixe meal.
Since the choices of main (plat) were not to my liking, I chose the Tuesday Dish of the Day (à la carte): chicken with olives, grains and vegetables.
When I got my dish, it was a quarter poached chicken, slightly browned on top lentils and lima beans with bits of tomato and other small bits of veggie. Not an olive in sight. Was the olive used in a sauce since this provided the salt element that the chicken was missing? The chicken was slightly dry which was not good (€24).
I found the Thé Glacé Maison (house iced tea) to be delicious. A fruity and floral beverage perfectly balanced in sweetness.
Service was very good. The volume of people descending on the restaurant is immense. I give a hand to the serving équipe (team). They kept their cool with a variety of French and non-French speaking patrons.
      Overall:
      Food 3.5 stars
      Service 4 stars
      Ambiance: 3.5 stars
I would return and try some other main dish.

Is this food the best I had in Paris? No. Was it overpriced? Yeah, somewhat, but I'd expect that. Was the service good? Absolutely! Atmosphere? Excellent! Would I eat here again? Next time I'm at this museum, sure.

I opted for the entrée and main prix fixe menu with a Caeser salad and lamb shank. The salad was good, but nothing special. The lamb shank was huge, and kinda dry. I didn't end up finishing it. I also ordered the patisserie of the day - a mille feuille. That was the star - thick, slightly salty layers of pastry and a rich cream.

Really you eat here because you're at the museum, though. I wouldn't go here just for this restaurant. Also, be prepared to wait for a table. The dining room is large, but meals are meant to be enjoyed in France, so the tables take time to turn over.

Sans surprise trop cher, cependant j'ai assez aimé mon café viennois et l'acceuil était sympa. Pratique si vous voulez passer toute la journée au musée

A beautiful place to have lunch before seeing the museum! I enjoyed the petit chicken Caesar salad and it was delicious, the fresh Parmesan was sooo good! And overall the salad was very refreshing. The restaurant got crowded quickly, so I recommend going a little early to beat the lunch rush.

Definitely would stay away from the food at this museum. Great museum for the price, but the food was extremely overpriced and mediocre in taste!
Great price on the wine however...
The pasta was mediocre even though we were extremely hungry. You know the food isn't great when you are starving and it doesn't taste any good. However, I was content with the glass of wine and that made up for the food...
They have so many tables with only a few servers, takes a while to get anything from drinks to food.
Highly recommend the museum, not the museum restaurant.

Beautiful exhibits, beautiful layout. They took an old train station and renovated it in the 80's into a remarkable museum. A must visit in Paris!

Go for the ceiling. What 5-Star review starts out with that? Yah, none do.

Just walk in saying you are meeting a friend ~ gaze in amazement at the exquisite ceiling ~ and walk back out. I just saved you €60+ a head and 2-hours of time.

The services was the only poor service we've received in Paris. I get hands off, but there was literally 60-minutes when we couldn't get anyone to help us ~ told twice "not your server". I hate saying it but for the first time in 27-years I actually considered dining and dashing...

The food had a pretty presentation but was bland...well the parts I tried that were actually fully cooked.

      Try anywhere else.

This restaurant is beautiful!! I loved the decor.

We specifically picked this place because it didn't feature frog legs/sweetbreads. We were looking for normal cuts of meat: chicken, beef.

We ordered white wine to start and it was good but a little dry. For dinner, I had the chicken with rice/ vegetables in a white sauce, my mom has the steak with fries and my dad had the fish. We all really enjoyed our meals! The chicken was tender and delicious. I really liked it. The fries that came with my mom's meal were super good as well! We all really enjoyed the food.

If you're looking for a more normal menu, come here!
