Great place for lunch, but get here early. It gets very busy by 12pm, but it turns over very fast, so you probably won't have to wait too long.

The options seem to change daily and are very fresh. There will always usually be a chicken, ground beef or vegetarian option. I've had some great chicken pho here, but I would eat anything they serve. The staff is really friendly and service is pretty fast; it's really easy to pay and leave.

This is one of my top favorite restaurants in Hamburg.
The food is primarily Vietnamese and it always tastes amazing. The staff is also delightful.

I love going to Oren Ishii for lunch, and it is some of the best Vietnamese fusion I've ever had.

It can get pretty busy during lunch, so I recommend getting their either a little bit before noon or around 12:30 when the first wave of people leaves.

The menu changes every week with options for soup, chicken, meat and vegetarian available. I've had several things from each category and have come to find that chicken is usually a bit bland, and the meat options tend to be more flavoured.

The ginger lemonade is yummy and a great accompaniment to spicier dishes :)

I have to say my absolute two favourite meals since coming here were the pork belly steamed buns and the chicken wings!! Would love to see things like this pop up more on weekly menus.

Got here close to when they opened and one of the wait staff members informed me that the kitchen was still preparing and that I couldn't order just yet but I was welcome to wait in the restaurant.

I didn't mind the wait and everyone was very nice. After about 20 or 30 min, the waitress came by and took my order and my noodle soup came out at a reasonable time. An hour past after they opened and I could tell this is a popular lunch spot as the place was filling up very quickly so be here to get here early to avoid the lunch rush.

The menu changes frequently and while they do have a menu with some staples, seems like everyone is looking at their specials board that changes everyday I believe. I ordered off the specials board - noodle soup.

The noodle soup was really great! Had a lot of great flavors and on a cold day, this helped to warm me up!

I love the vibe of this place! The staff is super friendly and they have a great lunch selection that will please your taste buds.

I will be sure to come back to try more!

      Love the decor!

It's a wonderful, quaint little restaurant. The staff was friendly and helpful with understanding the menu. My German is nonexistent. The entrees change weekly and the dish I ordered was full of flavor. The appetizers were authentic and tasty. Overall it is a nice place.

Slightly cozier than sister locale mi-chii with all its concrete, the original O-ren Ishii is still geared toward fast eating prior to dinner hours, with five changing dishes every day, all around 10-13€. Benches and stools are simple, hard, with very few seats even boasting as much as a backrest.

Food started more pleasantly, with a delicious spicy home-made lemonade. This was followed by absolutely brilliant spring rolls; airy, crispy, just perfection on a bed of fresh herbs. Do not miss out on those if you eat here!
Unfortunately, my main course let me down again: I got a Vietnamese-style rice bowl with a generous helping of chicken, but they somehow managed to make a ginger-chili sauce dull and boring. A spicy, bland dish, and no other sauces or dressings available to at least dilettante things up...

As much as I loved the starter course: the bland main, as well as the uncomfortable seating would not entice me back.

One of the best Vietnamese restaurant I've ever tried! Dishes are amazing! You can get a big bowl of fried chicken, rice and vegetables for 10€.

I'm used to go there with co-workers. Please note that space is really reduced, the restaurant is usually crown around lunching hours (around 12pm - 1pm). Unfortunately, the menu is just in German on a blackboard on the wall (just pick randomly...)

If you are Vietnamese and looking for good viet food, don't come here. Not only was the waitress rude but the food did not taste one bit Vietnamese. I asked the waitress if she spoke Vietnamese and she looked at me like I said something disrespectful. And when I asked for the check, she yelled at one of her employees to bring it to me in German. But hey, what do you expect by getting Vietnamese food in Germany.

I absolutely love and recommend the location for a 'half-decadent' Friday lunch. Food is modern Vietnamese cuisine, the serving process is optimized and even when you see a long queue you will still be seated and served within less than 10 minutes. The staff is extremely friendly. It can be noisy and crowded at times but that's part of the experience too.

      Cute Vietnamese umbrellas outside
Espresso and dessert is always good on a Friday
