At "Lap of Luxury Dog Spa", we feature seven mini-boutiques throughout the store with a host of posh accessories from top European, Asian and American designers that include bags, clothing, pet carriers, collars and leashes, pet beds, jewelry and accessories. We strive to provide your pet with the best from around the world. We also feature a state-of-the-art grooming salon where pets are groomed and coiffed with loving care by trained professionals and overseen by "groomer to the stars" and managing partner, Jonathan David of Animal Planet's "Dogs 101" and "Groomer Has It". The overriding philosophy at "Lap of Luxury Dog Spa" is one that puts pet's happiness and quality of life first and all dogs lucky enough to be members of the "Luxury Dog Spa" family live the life that all dogs wish for and deserve to have. In store we offer custom collars, harnesses, leashes, blueberry facial, pedicures, organic dog food and healthy treats.

Lori C.Magnolia, United States320210 Mar 2017Wow! What a fun place to shop for your pampered pet. Lots of unique collars, clothing, accessories and beds! I didn't have my dogs groomed they but the grooming area is enclosed in glass so you can watch your pet being groomed. The dogs looked great walking out. It's a must stop if you are in the Delray area. Easy to find.

In regard to Johnathan Owner of Lap of Luxury comment to my comment. Johnathan screamed at me I was late, which I called from my car to communicate that the traffic was horrific, I was told to come anyway. I waited for Johnathan over 20 mins. he said BECAUSE YOU ARE LATE we will not have time to demat your dog. My PERFECT GROOMER relocated I have had poodles for over 30 yrs. my dog was brushed by me I was seeking a new groomer, Unfortunately I went to Lap of Luxury where the attitudes of the staff were on fire please go in for yourself and you might experience it. Everyone who has seen my dog said the Groomer did not know how to cut when they don't know how they shave. None of my dogs were ever shave, Johnathan and his staff are very "special" in a way as they are neither here nor there in their skins, they get super sensitive and go off kilter. It was a den of Sodom and Gemorrah in my opinion very uncomfortable for religious people as I am .I think one needs to be comfortable where they are spending their money , it was an awful experience. It's OK because my dog is known in my area and everyone has commented on the horrible, "decision" this "person" made. My dog is bad advertisement for his shop everyone asked where I went so they could stay away from these "people" and their special natures.

We’re sorry you didn’t like your experience at our spa but your version is not quite accurate, while your dog was a lovely little pet to work on you hadn’t had him groomed for three months prior and he was completely matted. You communicated to us that you hadn’t had him groomed because your groomer had left where you were going and you waited too long and you took responsibility for the condition of your dog and the way you neglected his coat. We were left with no choice but to shave his coat and start over to avoid your dogs further discomfort. You agreed to having him shaved because brushing was not an option, it wasn’t the time issues it was just not possible to brush hair that badly matted from months of neglect so we proceeded but the end result was not what you were happy with. We love dogs and our first priority is a dogs comfort and welfare above vanity. We hope your furbaby is feeling better now that he has been properly cared for.
19 Apr 2019Previous reviewWow , what a let down. I was running late due to traffic and the distance I was traveling. I called to let the staff know I was on my way. I arrived as mentioned when I called approx. 10 mins. late, 13 mins. after arrival Johnathan David comes and starts barking that I was 30 mins. late when in reality it was 10 mins.I was scheduled for an express service, I was then scolded by Johnathan David that since I was 30 mins. late he would have no time to de mat my dog. I chose to forgo that process as I did not want to put stress on my dog. Mr. David said we would then have to shave my dog, I agreed. As an Owner of dogs all my life this situation has come up in the past, the groomers always kind enough to make my dog presentable, my dog looks like a lamb. I was previously going to Mod Dog and had an excellent groomer, I wasn't able to walk a step without getting stopped about my dogs groom, unfortunately the groomer is no longer employed at Mod Dog and the facility is so back logged , I cannot wait until they hire another groomer, so we can go back. The shop is wonderful, small, excellent employees great communication and so caring. Lap of Luxury in my opinion is contrast to what we are used too and comfortable with. Today was brutal, the egos were just crashing. When a patron enters a store for a first visit, communicated that they were going to be late due to the distance and then scolded, I should have trusted my intuition I wanted to leave after the scolding.The Lap Of Luxury Smoke and Mirrors did not impress what a let down. Today lesson learned chose your environments wisely every interaction counts, there are too many caring people in our world, fish through the barks, no matter what TV programs they are on, stay humble and grateful support the businesses that greet you with open arms. I was told by an employee outside of the shop, Johnathan David was having a rough day, perhaps if he communicated this, I would have rescheduled.There are too many authentic people in this world, stay with like minded people always and support one another, never take abuse because someone is having a bad day.Oh, and go with your gut. Energy affects others and our animals can feel it , too. It's not always about the appearance or money just watching the show there made me happy to know that simplicity is so much more nurturing for myself and my dog. They did not charge me although I would have paid a hefty price to get a great groom it wasn't about the payment.
Nicole T.Boca Raton, United States078 Jul 2015AMAZING!!!! The prices are high, but as they say "you get what you pay for..." That is definitely true. The groomers do an outstanding job. I have tried other grooming salons in the area (seeing as their pricing is a little higher than most), but I was immediately back for a fix job. The level of grooming here far surpasses other salons in the area. The whole staff is helpful and willing. The boutique is great, high-end items that you can't find anywhere else. If they don't have what you're looking for, I'm sure they would be happy to special order. (I have special ordered something with Stefen previously). The best thing about the boutique is their food section. All of their food is holistic and made in the USA. I would definitely recommend!

I have been to several groomers in the South Palm area and Lap of Luxury is the best! You get what you pay for in my opinion. My Louie loves coming here with a smile on his face and his tail wagging so I know they take great care while making him look so beautiful. Thank you!!

I have been going here for years with my dog and they do an excellent job. He loves coming here and everyone is so happy to see him! My sister moved back from out of town and her dog looked so silly from the groomers out there. It's now been almost a year with him coming here and he's a brand new looking dog! We're always stopped when our dogs are with us because they look so cute. I'm a crazy dog mom and I recommend this place to everyone.

They offered me immediate attention and showed me their selection of fine leather and jeweled dog collars and paid alot of attention to my dog. The shop was very clean. I could observe the groomers working behind an open glass wall. They are known as a salon that provides scissor cuts for all their clients. What blew me away were their deluxe china bowls a la Versace. Getting ready for season I will surely be back to have my dog fitted for his new collar for the new year.

Arrogance personified Never told us about injuries until one baby, a 4 1/2 toy poodle needed 12 stiches on her sliced ear- absolutely horrific-my girls,daughters of finished champions would shake when approaching that shop -They now are happy and beautiful in a caring grooming environment with Mark at Pet Pourrie in Boca-1 cut in 22yrs, 2 litters at Dog from Ipanema when living in Miami - he told me right away - Accidents do happen

We’re sorry you had a bad experience, we strive to give everybody the best possible experience we can. Unfortunately in this case an accident did occur that resulted in your dog being cut. It was a difficult situation as she was a very jumpy and nervous dog as you have communicated to us that she was on Prozac and other medications for her neurotic behavior and because she had bit several people already including a neighbor. We try to give every dog the best possible care but when you work with sharp tools and live dogs that react negatively for grooming accidents can occur but we certainly strive to not have that happen. We hope she’s doing well.
