When I first saw La Vie Boutique I got really quite excited at the prospect of having a good vintage clothes shop near my house.
Unfortunately, I've never found anything I've even been remotely interested in. Maybe I'm too fussy about clothes, but you'd expect there to be a better selection, and friendlier staff wouldn't go amiss.
I sometimes pop in on my way home, just in case they've suddenly got something worth trying on... but I'm always disappointed.
You can always rely on the Saturday market to be full of beautiful vintage numbers, and there's always brick lane, bursting to the seams with Vintage shops. Maybe I'm always in La Vie at the wrong time, everyone has bought all the good stuff before me.
Then again, maybe not.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lisette F.Washington, DC, United States14411 Jan 2010
Nice store with a lot more than vintage clothing, but you really have to look around. Still, got some fabulous black seamed-back stockings.. I'd been looking since I came across some really over-price ones in Islington....
I will be back, and not just for a chat.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype User (natali…)London, United Kingdom352327 Jun 2012
With a shortage of clothes shops of Broadway Market this one is handy if you need a quick change on the way from daytime at London Fields to evening at The Cat and Mutton. It's mainly vintage but there's also a few new pieces though they're in keeping with the shop style.
