Came here for lunch while touring this beautiful city by the sea. We were hoping for oysters and were happy to see a number of seafood options posted on the menu.
We were seated on the terrace as it was a beautiful sunny day. I ordered their seafood sampler platter - Assiette du Peschuer- and everyone else decided to follow. It included oysters, shrimp, whelks and winkles. Having never had a winkle, I could not wait to try one. Verdict: too small to be worth it. But overall, a great choice!
It is a lovely location to sit, have lunch and people watch of everyone walking by. We enjoyed good service too.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 15 Oct 2018
This place is fantastic for both savory and sweet crepes. They have a lot of prix fixe dishes that will include two crêpes, one savory and one sweet as well as mussels and frites with a sweet crêpe.
The menus are printed on a newspaper which is super cute with lots of options for everyone.
Savory crepes
I highly recommend the crepe brittand (scallops, leeks and cream) or the regular ham and cheese. Beware that andouille here is intestines and not the andouille sausage you think it is. It's definitely for more adventurous eaters.
Sweet crepes
Their sweet crepes are good but it's very very sweet with either the chocolate or salted caramel. They're definitely heavy handed on the sauces. I would recommend frying a classic crepe.
Service is ok and we witnessed people walking out as service does take a while.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 821351751 Mar 2019
Came here for dinner on a somewhat busy night. First I must say that the staff's little sailor outfits are so kitschy but cute! This was my first time ordering a galette, a traditional Bretagne dish that is basically a crepe except with different flour, and folded over. Great service, great galette!

Very nice restaurant with very good savory crepes. The pace of service was very quick as well. We tried the galettes (buckwheat) crepes and really enjoyed them. The service was quite friendly at all stages.

This place is a prime location right inside the walled fort. The brunch was good and tea as good as Assam but most importantly toilets are handicap accessible which is rare in Europe. Lots of cobble stones but manageable if you are in wheel chair or strollers

You turn a corner upon the plaza and see a giant pink unicorn blazon and the sign 'la licorne', then you look down and, yes, there is a crêperie done out all in white and pink. Yes. You feel the need to sit. Luckily, the city got together to construct a plaza on that very spot, knowing that you would need to sit--you would need to sit and contemplate this spectacle over a languid cigarette. On the blazon, the horn forms the 'i', as if saying 'I. I am unicorn'.
Yes. You want to go there--you /need/ to go there--the universe has been directing your life to this very point and there you stand, the unicorn pink, proud, and beckoning beyond time and space ... to turn away now would be to turn your back on any belief you may have in God or fate or the order of the universe. Everything has been leading to this--the good choices and the bad, your first kiss, that time you lied to your parents, your college, your high school, your birth, the very founding of the Roman empire.
'But I can't go in /there/,' you think, 'I'm a grown man! Someone will see me!' And to your surprise, who peoples this oasis of pink? Why, not 4- and 7-year old princesses in their Sunday best pouring imaginary tea to their stuffed animals, their parents sitting impatiently by, trying to forget themselves and their daughters' spoiled pretensions in the iPhones, or bottle, or both. No! There is a classy older woman sipping what looks like a martini at 11:00 in the morning and looking like she doesn't give a sh*.
I passed numerous restaurants in St Malo, but I had to come back to this one for lunch, I didn't care if it was a tourist trap, or overpriced, or if there were fire ants... nothing would have stopped me. I already gave the restaurant 5 stars before I had been seated: this place was not just preposterous, it was also nice and drew a nice crowd of knowledgeable locals enjoying a leisurely lunch.
Also, they have food here, and it is grand! The crêpes are truly excellent, made from the best ingredients, everything fresh, local cheeses, potatoes! The cider they offer in various qualities and origins, all the best private stock from the region, fresh and biting and refreshing, tickling your tongue and your brain until you're silly-happy beyond any possible expectation.
And now your full, and you're happy, and you have a bit of a buzz from the cider, and you begin to understand why that woman is still there, glass empty, unmoving... she doesn't want to leave. Neither do you.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Joel L.Woodstock, United States1434517121 Jun 2015
Our hungry group descended on this spot for a quick late lunch.
Moules Frites were o.k., service was o.k. for such a busy spot.
Tourist fare on a tourist square.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Victoria B.Somerville, United States181353330 Mar 2016Updated review
Very cute spot, friendly servers, fast service and delicious crêpes. We went in because it started pouring (Brittany being Brittany) and they had heaters, it was perfect. I had the chocolate crêpe, and my boyfriend had the lemon sugar crêpe. They were amazing and not too small! The tea was delicious too and served in really cute tea pots. The kitchen and bathrooms were squeaky clean.
