We have stayed here several times, it's a great base for exploring Falmouth and Cornwall. The rooms are generally nice and lots of them are quite spacious (although have been in a small one once or twice). We preferred it when it was privately run, since being bought by Richardson Hotels the prices have gone up but nothing seems to have improved to justify the higher prices. The health club in the basement is pretty good for a hotel one. The hotel is within easy walk of Falmouth town centre and Pendennis castle. There is an adequately sized car park.

This is one of those places where the 1-star phrase of 'Eek! Methinks not.' Might have been actually uttered by my friends and I here. We weren't staying here but rather stopping in to try and find a late lunch after an 8 hour train journey from London. We had already stopped at one place that wasn't serving lunch (just sweets). We thought that this place looked rather impressive so we went in.

You would have thought that we had asked the staff at reception for a unicorn by the looks on their faces. Is asking for lunch such a strange thing in Falmouth? Again, we were told that lunch service was over, but they did have some sandwiches and they would seat us and we could look over that menu.

Since it was late, we were the only ones in the dining room but then again, we didn't expect it to be packed. But when we looked at the menu, we were sorely disappointed. There were only about 3 choices and they were exorbitantly expensive. That's when those words were uttered...and we walked out.

It looks like it might be a nice place to stay, but my experience with it is less than stellar.

A beautiful hotel both internally and externally with views to die for out over Falmouth Bay. Like most of the hotels on this piece of waterfront real estate are massive and are very imposing structures. The hotel itself is very exclusive, for most the only time they will be able to afford it is during the works party xmas party. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, they will ensure that your stay in their sumptuous and luxurious accommodation will be remembered for years to come. The food served in the myriad of bars and restaurants is excellent and prepared from the finest ingredients. Can only describe this place as awesome.

Because I live locally I don't get to stay at the Falmouth Hotel which I think is a shame. But - I do get to go to networking meetings there on a regular basis and I love their breakfast. The Full English is just that - It makes you very FULL! What's more it tastes great as well. The service is great and the staff are really very welcoming and helpful.

Shame - it's a nice building with great view of the bay and garden. However we were placed in a room at the back overlooking the kitchen roof. At around 8am each day the extractor fan was turned on and the noise was horrific. Due to availability we had to put up with it until the 3rd day - forget about trying to sleep in! They either need to replace the fan or stop putting guests in THAT room!

Bit of a gem this one. Old school hotel (it was the first on the front in Edwardian times). The reason for my review is the under used swimming pool and solarium in the basement. If you want a small pool to yourself then head here.

The pool was great, you can go in before 8.00pm because of the members club but apart from that the lunches were great the staff were helpful, well dressed and well mannered.
