We live very close to this place and I have walked by this place a hundred times but, never bothered to try it. Tonight I thought why not ? Although it was not on top of the list of places to try, we thought, ok we have a reservation and, why not just try it. I have to tell you we were so glad we did :-))

There was nothing about this place that I did not like and, that is quite rare. This place has a nice modern interior and plenty of al fresco seating and tonight, we decided to sit outside and enjoy the summer like weather we are having.

They have a great wine list with wines from Mediterranean countries like Italy, Greece and others and, wines from France, Spain and many new world wines. The choices are fantastic and the wine I picked for dinner was amazing. The prices are not great but still ok.

The main act aka food was where this place took it to new heights. The entree of Caramelised Onion Ravioli on grilled mushroom with a balsamic sauce was simply the best pasta dish I have had since arriving in Munich. The flavour was intense and it tasted delicious. For main I had a Dorade (gilt head bream) and I had no idea what this was until I looked up Wikipedia later (it is a Mediterranean fish and the best of the bream family). The fish was cooked to perfection and tasted delicious. The waitress even commented oh how I had picked the fish totally clean ;-)

Feeling brave after two fabulous courses I thought we should have a crack at dessert. I have been disappointed with desserts in most places but, the Creme brûlée with a cherry compote was delicious and, the table next to us ordered a Chocolate fondant and it smelt divine, and they said they loved it.

Finally I have a spot in Munich to go to where the wine and food including dessert is fabulous, service is top notch and very friendly and, the prices are ok. To top it off it is 200m from where we live....priceless :-)

I really enjoyed this place and nothing about the meal tonight was flawed, which is rare to find in a local cafe / restaurant. The staff even spoke ok English and were extremely accommodating. I am confident I will return here again and again.

A rare five star review from me but there is really nothing to criticize about the delicious meals and overall fabulous dining experience we had here last night. A serendipitous coincidence that friends of ours from San Francisco overlapped with our visit to Munich by one day. Our host recommended we try one of the restaurants near Herzogstrasse and Yelp led us to try Blu Mediteraneo.

You had me at hello when we were seated outside on the quieter Bauerstraße rather than on the noisier Nordendstraße. I love dining al fresco on a warm summer night but I hate sitting next to a lot of car traffic. The owner greeted us as we got out of our taxi and seated us right at the table we'd reserved. (After an ugly experience in Berlin last summer [Schneeweiß, I'm talking about you!] when we requested a table outside without having a reservation, we've learned our lesson!) Drinks were ordered (the Hugo is my summer cocktail for 2015) and we settled in to peruse the menu between catching up with one another.

The way to go here is with the wine flight paired with your choice of a three, four, or five course meal. Among the four of us we had four courses although we we each ordered three courses. Every item brought to the table was simply delectable, cooked to perfection, and beautifully presented. For the appetizer I had the grilled watermelon wedge with a golden crusted small slab of feta and a piece of grilled octopus, which yielded so many perfect bite combos. We also enjoyed the beef carpaccio and Andalusian gazpacho. I skipped the pasta course in favor of dessert (more later of course) but everyone else loved their dishes also. Hubby's ravioli with parmigiano was the best although the seafood cappellini was a close second.

For the main course everyone seemed to want fish after spending more than a few days enjoying typical German fare. My sea bass with lemon was excellent as was the lamb rack that someone else ordered. The final course was the dessert that I ordered, a perfect molten chocolate cake served with delicious homemade ice cream and four spoons. It was a perfect ending to an absolutely lovely evening. I hope I have the chance to return to this excellent restaurant on our next trip to München!

The food here not only tastes good, but looks fabulous. The restaurant puts much effort into the interesting presentation of the food. The fixed price menus are a great option. I had a white fish that was perfect.

They modern interior is cool and has a fun atmosphere. It is modern without being sterile.

The service here was amazing. The menu is in German, and we were having trouble understanding a couple of words. Thankfully, the waiter went out of his way to translate and make sure that we understood everything. He was also helpful at making recommendations.

Charged $11.00 euros for a drink. Basic and easy and way overpriced. Suggest hitting the friendly folks at the Schwabe or beer garden and they are both friendly and fair. Fyi none of the basic alcohol on hand although they say they have a full bar. Example. Rum, tequila, or jack. Shame as it is a nice looking place with outside seating.
